Neumann TLM 103 Condenser Microphone (Black) Bundle

The Neumann TLM 103 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone is a cardioid, directional microphone designed to deliver low self-noise and high sound pressure level transmission. The capsule, derived from the one used in the U 87, features a cardioid pattern that is acoustically well-balanced, providing great attenuation of signals from the rear.

Equipped with a large diaphragm capsule, the TLM 103 focuses on the cardioid pattern, optimizing the attenuation of unwanted rear sound. This also leads to a natural rendering of off-axis sounds while increasing isolation, resulting in high feedback suppression when the microphone is used in live situations or with loudspeaker playback.

The microphone is addressed from the front, and the K 103 large diaphragm capsule, based on the K 87, offers a flat frequency response up to about 5 kHz, followed by a wide, flat 4 dB presence boost. The large wire mesh head-grille protects the capsule from plosive sounds and effectively prevents pop noises, all without resorting to corrective resonance effects.

Maintaining a great impulse response, the TLM 103 reproduces details of music and speech without coloration. With an exceptionally low self-noise level of just 7 dB-A and 17.5 dB CCIR, this microphone can capture even the smallest signals almost noise-free. It is capable of handling sound pressure levels up to 138 dB without distortion.
